Bronx is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Bronx follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Came for a long weekend walk with the dog (leash rules apply). Wooded sections feel almost suburban-rural compared with Central Park. Signage is okay if you glance at a map first. Pack water and a snack; concessions aren't everywhere. One of the better 'get out of the density' options in the city.

Great park! It's peaceful, clean and beautiful. You do have to pay for parking though, $10 if you are not a resident or have a park pass. I don't think it's a big deal, worth it, but some of my friends hate it when visiting on a regular. Love this park!

Great location for BBQ or Bdays. Grills will be taken but you can rent one if needed!

This park is pretty crazy. There are a bunch of boisterous youth being loud and obnoxious. They serve nothing but ice cream, so maybe pack something if you plan on staying for a longer duration of time. If you walk over to the bay to try to get away from the noisy and disagreeable youth, be ready for a crazy amount of litter. Is there a beach? Egh, kind of. It has some unique features too. Not only broken glass on the beach, but partial bottles even. Large, like, composite plates that cut your hand when you try to move them, and buoys, and other things washing up on the shore. Last time I was there, there was an abandoned camp site complete with a stroller even. While the ocean isn't really welcoming, if you're looking to live on the edge, you can walk out into the extremely murky water and try not to get tetanus by stepping on a large piece of metal embedded in the ground. The cautiousness may prepare you for the walk back to the car, or wherever else you are going. Don't bother reporting it to the city. They basically come back and say, "What? This, is, the, way, I live. Nothing wrong with the way it is." Craziness.
